What is music therapy?

Music therapy is a research-based therapy where a trained music therapist uses music to support people’s emotional, physical, cognitive, and social wellbeing. Through singing, playing instruments, improvising, songwriting, and listening, clients can express themselves, build confidence, connect with others, and work towards personalised therapeutic goals.

In sessions, we can help and support you in finding ways to connect with aspects of yourself and your life that are meaningful to you...and we do it through the creative, free exploration of sound and music.

OUR WORKING MODEL

At Armonia Music Therapy, we work from the belief that everyone is inherently musical, and that music can open up new ways of connecting, expressing, and growing.
My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive space where each person can explore who they are and develop at their own pace.
The sessions are fully personalised and tailored to each person, to meet their needs and to build on their abilities and strengths.

We begin with an initial assessment session, followed by regular sessions. Progress is normally reviewed after the first four sessions to ensure the work is meeting the client's needs.
